Psoriasis is characterized by remissions( going away) and exacerbations( coming back again).
     Psoriasis affects about 2% of the U.S' population, and the incidence is higher among whites than among people of other races.  The disease affects men and women equally and, although it may occur at any age, it occurs less frequently after age 40.
 

• Symptoms The patient may complain of pain itching and burning of the skin area,and he may also describe arthritic symptoms-"morning stffness"-usually in one or more of the finger or toe joints.
• Causes The tendency to develop Psoriasis is inherited. Researchers have discovered a group of antigens called HLA's suggesting a possible autoimmune process.
• Complications Infection can develop in the skin areas, and the patient can develop a poor self-image due to the ugly areas and this may lead to social isolation.
• Treatment Topical cortisone or coal tar preparations are the treatment of choice. These do not cure the problem.

 

The real cause of Psoriasis is "idiopathic". (Idiopathic is a term doctors use when we have no idea what causes a disease!). We do know it is a disorder of the body’s immune system.

        It is common to have remissions and exacerbations of the symptoms- as Psoriasis severely challenges the person’s immune system

    I personnaly feel that Psoriasis is due to toxins which build up in the body and get deposited in the skin areas on the knees, elbows and other areas of the body.

Warning! Do not buy cheap shark liver oil for serious health problems. The liver can contain mercury and other contaminates.  Greenland and deep water shark liver oil is the best.
